Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had many talents, including being able to act, direct production, create plays teaching, as well as be the Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna Silk was the child of a Briton as well as an Turkish Cypriot English ex-pat. As a child, she played in commercials for a number of companies. Anna moved to Toronto in November of 1999, to pursue her acting talents. After that, she settled in Los Angeles (California) over the following decade.
