She is best known for her Internet Miranda Sings character uploading videos of the character on YouTube in addition to performing her solo comedy act in theatres worldwide, and producing and starring in a Netflix original show called Haters Back Off (2016-2017) about the character. Ballinger invented the hilarious eccentric, egotistical, untalented character to laugh at the countless YouTube videos of people singing poorly to try and gain entry into the show industry. The total number of views on her YouTube channels has surpassed 5 billion. Miranda Sings has over 10 million subscribers. She also has six million Instagram followers. Ballinger received an Teen Choice Award for Web Star Comedy, as well as a Streamy Award for Best Actress. 4. The Hollywood Reporter named her one of its Top 25 Digital Stars. She was ranked as No. 5 on Forbes magazine's list of 2017's the top influencers in entertainment. Ballinger has been an actor and singer on recordings, theatre, and web series. Erik Stocklin is her husband. Ballinger initially moved to New York City to pursue acting opportunities. She returned to California in 2012 only to discover that she was unable to maximize her YouTube audience without collaborating with YouTubers in Los Angeles. After a number of years of relationship, Ballinger married Joshua Evans in California in July of 2015. In separate YouTube videos, Evans & Ballinger announced their plans for divorce in September 2016.
